Description

Panzer IV was the most widely produced German tank of WWII, with 8500 produced from 1936-45. One of the later variants was the Panzer IV Ausf.H - it commenced production in April 1943 and a total of 3013 vehicles were completed. It was one of the most important panzers of WWII, and it is also one of Dragon's most important 1/35 scale model kits of 2009!

Dragon's new Smart Kit is a veritable work of art, and it will be an invaluable addition to Dragon's family of Panzer IV vehicles. Thanks to Dragon's thorough research and application of high-technology, this legendary Panzer IV has come to life. Plus, the Smart Kit label guarantees that this well-engineered kit is not only accurate and highly detailed, but is also a joy to assemble.

Dragons new kit of a Late Production Ausf.H is not merely a variation of an old theme. This kit is the beneficiary of an enormous amount of research and new toolings. The hull schurzen has been recreated in metal to achieve scale thickness; the kit also allows the useful option of mounting these plates separately should the modeler wish to do so. The turret with its thinly reproduced plastic skirts is a brand new item. All the brackets for both the turret and hull side skirts are accurately made and realistically portray their original construction. Other new parts are the upper hull and fenders, with a great many parts created by 3-directional slide molds to enable greater accuracy and detail. To customize this tank even further, Dragon offers 500mm waffle-pattern tracks from a T-34 as additional armor protection. This element reflects a common practice revealed in wartime photos. There are also some photo-etched components (for example, the engine-deck exhaust grills) that offer fine improvements. This Panzer IV Ausf.H is a definitive Late Production variant, and it is a must-buy item for modelers interested in German WWII vehicles.
