The design concept of the BMW Z8 is a tribute to one of the finest cars ever built: the BMW 507 from 1956. With typical roadster proportions, its appearance is impressive: long bonnet, short overhangs, balanced curves and a powerful rear. The Z8 constitutes a leading-edge technical masterpiece: timeless classical design, breathtaking performance and maximum safety make it a classic which rouses the emotions and makes driving a great joy. The V-8 sports engine delivers 400 hp, which - under controlled conditions - can reach a top speed of 250 km/h. It accelerates from 0 -100 in 4.7 seconds. The design of the outer shell is carried through harmoniously into the interior, the most striking instance being the top half of the fascia panel, which is painted in the external colour with the instruments set in the centre.
